‘Drawing Out the Best in You’

When I am invited to speak at any event I thoroughly enjoy the opportunity to interact with the audience. I have heard many very impressive  lectures and presentations from well known highly accomplished speakers talking about themselves. When I stand up to speak to a group of people I turn it around and discover the wealth of knowledge and achievement in the room. With my ‘weapon of mass destruction’, my pen, I ascertain from individuals what it is that motivates them and I give each volunteer the opportunity to share their journey whilst I literally draw their best features. Through the craft of caricature and the gentle art of persuasion, I am always delighted by the ease with which my subject discusses a variety of topics. Sometimes covering sensitive issues opening up a broader discussion to address and solve. My style is tactful, diplomatic  and engaging.

It is always a privilege to be invited to a wedding.

I meet bride & groom in advance and draw a poster size colour caricature

This is then on display during the wedding feast and guests are invited to sign the border

I draw as many caricatures as I can in the time between the service and the wedding breakfast

I draw A4 caricatures in black & white with a grey wash. I write in calligraphy, guests names and also the bride & groom The best feedback I’ve received is ‘Thank you for all the laughter Helen’.
